Monday = Laundry day.. oh joy.
Last week I found out what every one else knows. Vinegar in laundry is awesome. I really cannot stand the smell of vinegar, so I've been reluctant to try it. But I did try it last week and oh my gosh!, I love it! I feel like my laundry gets so much more clean AND it comes out smelling so fresh!! It doesn't smell at all of vinegar when it comes out of the dryer. What I do is add 1/2 or 3/4 cup of vinegar to every load (depending on how bad the load is) For bath towels, the vinegar makes the towels so much more fluffy and absorbent. For whites it makes whites brighter. It also takes funky smells out of clothes and towels and sheets. Whatever needs to be cleaned, I put vinegar in the wash right along with the detergent. The laundry really comes out smelling so fresh and clean. I only wish I had tried this a long time ago.
I buy vinegar by the gallon because I love it so much.
I also found this amazing stuff at walmart. It's called "White Brite". It takes your dingy, nasty whites and makes them bright and white again. I have white bedding and sheets on my bed. After a week, they get nasty and dingy. Also, My husbands Tshirts get pretty gross too. I put my bed spread in the wash, added "White Brite" to the wash and let it sit in the washer with hot, hot water for 20 minutes. I came back to finish the load and my comforter was shockingly white again! I was so stoked! I did a load with my sheets and my mattress cover and my bed looks brand new again. I am so impressed with this stuff. Each 1lb. bottle is $3.98 and it only does about 8 loads, but it is sooooo worth it when you see the end result. The only bad thing about this stuff is that the chemicals are fairly harsh. It kills your nose when you open the bottle and pour it in the wash. But even so, I still think it's well worth the price, buying it and using it. My whites have never been whiter. This stuff is AWESOME!!
Note** DO NOT add bleach or vinegar to the load when using "white brite". Just add detergent and fabric softener. That's all you need.
